We are pleased to announce that the third annual 16-97 Economic Alliance Spring Forum is being hosted at the Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum. This interactive professional development forum is being held April 25 and 26 in Prince George. We will be discussing the skilled labour shortage from an economic development lens and exploring how small northern communities can lead and support efforts to create sustainable communities that attract and retain residents.
We are also partnering with Resources North and coordinating our Spring Forum to coincide with their 2-day event – Bridging the Divide: A Multi-Sector Approach to Natural Resource Labour Needs in Northern BC. This event is being held April 24 and 25 at the Ramada in Prince George and will bring together a diverse group of people to look specifically at how the region can work together to attract and retain skilled workers for the natural resource sector. Based on feedback from our members we are holding these events back to back to make it easier for our members who have to travel to Prince George to attend. We’re working with Resources North to ensure the events are complementary and do not duplicate speakers or sessions and we hope you’ll be able to attend both events.
If you need a place to stay in PG, there will be a limited number of rooms held at the Ramada for the evening of April 25 under the reference name “16-97 Economic Alliance.”
Please feel free to forward this invitation to others in your network who you think may find value from this event. If you have any questions at all please do not hesitate to contact me via email or at 250-562-9622 ext. 105. We hope to see you this spring!
